Beef roast is cut from the chuck, or shoulder section of the steer. The roast is made up of well marbled meat, delicious fat, and connective tissue. It requires a low and slow cook to reach it's full, nutrient-rich potential.

Beef roast is best when braised. A slow cook in lots of liquid keeps the meat from drying out and gives the muscle and connective tissue time to break down and become truly fork tender.

We recommend making pot roast with this cut in a dutch oven, slow cooker, or even Instant Pot. Serve alongside mashed potatoes for a hearty, winter meal that everyone in the family will love!
